Greenwich Man Accused Of Stealing $1K In Merchandise From Post Road Store

A Greenwich man was arrested after allegedly stealing more than a $1,000 in goods from the Burlington Coat Factory.

Brandon M. McLaughlin, 25, of Greenwich's Cos Cob area, was arrested on Jan. 2, by Orange Police after they responded to the store at 80 Boston Post Road, for a larceny in progress, said the Orange Police Department.

Police said officers stopped and searched McLaughlin and allegedly found $1,078.75 in merchandise he had taken without paying for, police said. 

Officers also found that he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and devices used for shoplifting. During his arrest, officers discovered he was wanted an active warrant by the parole office.

McLaughlin was given a promise to appear ticket and then transferred to the custody of the Department of Corrections.
